Imagine being eight years old and being given your own patch of land to curate your own garden? Growing up on a block in Warrandyte, Melissa’s parents recognised her passion for gardening and dedicated some of their land for her to create her own masterpiece. Every weekend she visited the local nursey and after school would plant and create. From her own rose garden, herb garden, to a wishing well made from bluestones. Fast forward many years and now Melissa is presenting for Better Homes & Gardens and has years worth of experience in Horticulture Media.

Here at Green Hip we love to celebrate women everyday! Since 2010 we have recognised that clothing is the visual validation of a person’s identity, the outward expression of a person's sense of worth and provides design and style which complements a woman's self expression. Over the next week we are celebrating women with a giveaway that will be announced via email on International Women’s Day Tuesday 8th March. Simply purchase any items from our online store for $150 or more and you will go in the running to win 1 of 3 $150 gift vouchers. Let the fun begin!
We chose some of our faves and asked them to share some stories about their inspirational women in their lives. Here’s to all the amazing women in our lives!View Post

Janae Paquin-Bowden lives in a beautiful part of the country called Lyonville, located only 15 minutes west of Daylesford, Victoria, amongst the rolling hills and Australian bush. Janae grew up in Bendigo surrounded by horticulture; her Mum and Dad own a landscaping business and they are both native plant gurus, and they are developing a native plant nursery. To say horticulture was in Janae’s veins would be an understatement. When she graduated high school, Janae decided to study the Arts, majoring in ceramics, followed by a diploma of education. Little did she know she would one day own her own micro flower farm.View Post

I live in the lovely seaside town of Victor Harbor, SA with my beautiful family. It’s also where I run my little business CHARLIE & JACK (an Indoor plant & gift store).
I was born in Melbourne and moved to Gellibrand in the Otway Ranges when I was 14, right near my beautiful Cous Liv!
In hindsight, I can see what a positive life change that was for me, being surrounded by wildlife, nature and family....View Post
