Green Hip's owner and creator, Liv Thwaites, grew up on a farm in the Otways, Victoria and this store is still the local for her family who live in the area.

Hip Pocket Colac was established way back in 1998 by Jim and Elaine McMaster. Victor & Kaylene purchased the business from Jim and Elaine in February 2017 and maintained all the staff who had an intricate knowledge of the clients and the industry.

Although Victor and Kaylene did not want to make any radical changes they did want to put their own stamp on the store and the products. The focus over the first 15 months has been to provide a level of service that is not only professional but also fun and an enjoyable place to visit. The other change was to introduce additional lines to cater for the changing workers needs.

Victor and Kaylene have always lived in Colac and have seen the growth of the area particularly over the last couple of years. Colac is now a vibrant go ahead place to work and live where the demographic has changed. One major change that they have seen is the increasing number of women in trades and farms.

They were very happy to talk to Liv at Green Hip and to stock the range of women’s work wear. It has complimented many other new items that have been introduced over the first 15 months on their ownership.
