Meet Green Hip Ambassador Jackie!

Meet Green Hip Ambassador Jackie!

Green Hip is celebrating the expansion of our ever-growing Green Hip Tribe. We are always welcoming new members into our community from all different backgrounds and skills because we all have a story to share. In this week’s blog we introduce you to Jackie (from Instagram’s @jacklynfosterart ) – the latest member of our Green Hip Tribe! Jackie is a passionate art lover whose art showcases her fun-loving and colourful personality, here is her story…

First brushstrokes…

Jackie grew up in rural Victoria, in the small town of Mildura. From a young age she was drawn to painting and creating, her natural talent showing through when she sold her first piece at the age of 15!

However, adopting the mindset of ‘finding a real job’ she gave into societal pressure and stopped making art in order to begin an occupational therapy degree. Jackie had numerous jobs such as; working in a pharmacy, life guarding and being a receptionist before finally realising her dream reality. 3 weeks away from graduating she had had enough, knowing deep down this was the time for her to follow her true calling. She took the courageous leap to drop out of her degree and followed her dream of becoming an artist. A truly terrifying thing for anyone to do, but Jackie took it in her stride and it has made her more ambitious than ever before.

Painting the way…

Jackie has now been painting professionally for just over a year and not once has she ever looked back. Each success she has had in this past year speaks to Jackie’s passion and talent for art, as well as her nurturing ability to encourage the people around her to follow their dreams the way she did.

Known for her use of vibrant colours, abstract ideas and unforgettable designs, Jackie has hosted several solo exhibitions and projects, as well as numerous group-shows. Jackie primarily works with acrylic paint on canvas but has worked on other surfaces for mural projects.

A recent project had Jackie painting a mural at The Bottle Works in Geelong, where she was chosen to be one of three artists to help bring some colour and life for the launch of the new business, a contrast against this tumultuous year.

Jackie loves having a dance while she’s working, you’ll always find her having a boogie on Instagram stories (such great vibes!). On top of her growing art business she also delivers meals on wheels 3 mornings a week. Jackie is a fur-mum to an 8-year-old Cavoodle, Ruby. When she’s not working, you’ll find Jackie reading a good book or hanging out with her friends.

Sketching the future…

Jackie is excited and ready to see where her next project takes her. She was recently selected as a feature artist to design a yoga mat with Yogat and is now working to get her art on tea towels, and maybe even puzzles (how cool is that!). Jackie’s YouTube interview series, ‘The Awkward 3 with Jackie’, has momentarily been put on hold, but will be back better than ever very soon. She is also always working on artworks in order to hold an exhibition again.

At Green Hip, we know that Jackie’s desire to strive for the very best and her natural talent will take her career to places far and wide. We are so excited announce Jackie coming onboard as one of Green Hip’s Ambassadors and can’t wait to see what else her art has in-store in the future.
